Runked vs COROS App

Updated October 8, 2026 · By Oktay Kurt, developer of Runked

Runked is a running app built around a rank: it tracks runs with the phone's GPS and needs no watch, every run earns trophies scored on effort, your trophy total places you in a league from Bronze to Olympian, and a first-5K plan, 5K to marathon training plans and race predictions come in the same subscription. The COROS app is the free companion app for COROS watches: it shows daily data and activity summaries for sports recorded on the watch, and COROS also offers a free web Training Hub. Runs recorded on a COROS watch reach Runked through Apple Health, so some runners use the two together.

What Runked does that COROS app doesn't

Runked tracks a run on the phone, so there is nothing to buy first. Every run earns trophies, and your trophy total is your rank, on a ladder of 20 leagues from Bronze I to Olympian. Trophies score effort (how long the run was and how hard it was for you), so a beginner's hard week earns more than a faster runner's easy one. Each league above Bronze has a weekly trophy goal that comes off your total every Monday, so the rank has to be held by running and can fall if you stop.

Runked also builds a run/walk plan for someone who cannot run a 5K yet, personalized 5K to marathon plans, and race-time predictions for 5K to marathon. Runner DNA and fitness and fatigue charts are in the same Runked PRO subscription, at $59.99 a year. The COROS app shows activities recorded on a COROS watch, and its App Store listing describes no way to record a run with the phone alone. For a phone against a watch more broadly, see running app vs GPS watch.

What COROS app does that Runked doesn't

The COROS app and the COROS Training Hub are both free, with no subscription. The app manages a COROS watch: daily data such as sleep, steps and calories, activity summaries for sports recorded on the watch, maps and routes, and watch settings. The Training Hub on the web adds data analysis, drag-and-drop workout and plan building, two-way messaging between athletes and coaches, and team management for coaches. The app works with every sport the watch records, runs on Android as well as iPhone, and offers 16 languages. COROS's EvoLab estimates race times for 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon and scores Running Fitness from the past six weeks of training. Runked has none of those: it is a subscription app for running, on iPhone.

Checked on October 8, 2026 against the COROS app's App Store listing, its Google Play listing, the COROS Training Hub page and COROS's support articles on EvoLab and Apple Health. That COROS runs reach Runked through Apple Health is from Runked's own records.

Frequently asked questions

Is the COROS app free?

Yes. The COROS app is a free download on the App Store, and the COROS Training Hub on the web is free too, according to COROS. Both are built for COROS watch owners. Runked is free to download but needs a subscription to use: $59.99 a year after a 7-day free trial, or $11.99 a week.

Do I need a COROS watch to use the COROS app?

The App Store listing describes the app as a way to view daily data and activity summaries for sports recorded on your watch, and it does not describe tracking a run with the phone alone. Runked tracks runs with the phone's GPS and needs no watch, and it can also read runs from Garmin Connect and Apple Health.

Does the COROS app have training plans and race predictions like Runked?

Runked builds 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon plans plus a first-5K run/walk plan, predicts race times for 5K to marathon, and ranks every run, all in one subscription, with no watch needed. COROS's EvoLab estimates race times for 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon from the past six weeks of training on a COROS watch, and the free web Training Hub has drag-and-drop workout and plan building.

Does Runked work with a COROS watch?

Yes, through Apple Health. Runked has no direct COROS connection, but it reads runs from Apple Health, and it already receives runs recorded on COROS watches from runners who have switched on Apple Health sync in the COROS app. Once the sync is on, a run recorded on the watch adds trophies to your Runked rank.
