Runked vs Runify
Runify and Runked are both ranked running apps, iPhone only, built around a rank that rises with your running instead of a plain activity log. Runify's rank runs on XP earned from distance and pace, with distance-specific leaderboards (800m to marathon) as a paid upgrade, and it's the older, cheaper, more reviewed app: released July 2025 versus Runked's April 2026, Pro at $4.99/month against Runked PRO's $11.99/week. Runked's rank runs on weekly leagues scored on effort adjusted for personal fitness, and bundles training plans and race predictions into its PRO tier, which Runify does not offer at all. Neither app has an Android version. Pick based on whether you want a cheaper, more established XP rank or a fitness-adjusted one with plans built in.

Where Runify wins
Runify is the cheaper app: Pro is $4.99/month or $39.99/year against Runked PRO's $11.99/week or $59.99/year, a real gap if price is what decides it. It's also the more established one, with an App Store release date of July 2025 against Runked's April 2026. Runify's own site quotes a 4.8 rating and 600+ reviews; Apple's listing showed a 4.8 average across 241 ratings for the current version when checked on 2026-08-26, and Runked has no App Store rating history yet. Runify syncs from Strava directly, which Runked does not, and it splits its rank by race distance (800m, 1K, 5K, 10K, half and full marathon) as well as an overall score, something Runked's single Bronze-to-Olympian rank doesn't do. Its social layer goes further too: reactions, comments on runs, country and private-club leaderboards, and one-tap sharing to Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram and Messages, all things Runked leaves out entirely. Runify also supports iOS 16, a lower floor than Runked's iOS 17 requirement, so it reaches a few more older iPhones.
Where Runked wins
Runked's rank is built to compare you to yourself, not to others: every account starts at Bronze, and the rank only moves on your own runs, weighed by effort that's adjusted for your own fitness. Runify's XP is earned straight from distance and pace (Runify's App Store description also names consistency among the factors), with no adjustment for the runner's own fitness, so it rewards volume and speed on their own terms. Runked also bundles personalized training plans, race-time predictions and a six-dimension Runner DNA breakdown (Endurance, Pacing, Speed, Consistency, Climbing, Threshold) into one PRO subscription; Runify's site and App Store listing don't mention training plans or race predictions at all. Runked's weekly leagues reset every Monday and score effort rather than raw output, which matters for anyone who found Runify's distance-and-pace XP hard to keep up with on a slower week.
Which should you pick
- Pick Runify if price matters most, you want a longer track record to check reviews against, you want Strava sync, or you want distance-specific leaderboards and a bigger social layer around your runs.
- Pick Runked if you want a rank and leagues scored on effort adjusted for your own fitness rather than raw pace, or you want training plans, race predictions and Runner DNA included in one subscription instead of a separate purchase.
- Neither works if you run on Android; both are iPhone only as of August 2026.

Is Runify the same as Runked?
No. They're separate apps from separate companies: Runify is made by OneDegree Labs LLC, Runked by the Runked team. Both turn running into a rank that rises with XP or effort and both compete directly with Strava, which is likely why they get confused, but there's no shared code, account system or company behind them.
Which is free?
Both. Runify's free tier covers GPS tracking, XP, an overall rank with tier progression, and friends and global leaderboards. Runked's free tier covers GPS tracking, a running rank, weekly effort-scored leagues, streaks and device sync. Runify's Pro tier (distance-specific leaderboards and expanded stats) is $4.99/month or $39.99/year. Runked PRO (training plans, race predictions and Runner DNA) is $11.99/week or $59.99/year, both with a 7-day trial.
Which works on Android?
Neither, as of August 2026. Runify's own FAQ states it is iOS only and Android is not currently available. Runked is also iPhone only, requiring iOS 17 or later. Anyone on Android will need a different app for either one.
Which ranks fairly for beginners?
It depends what a runner wants rewarded. Runify's rank runs on XP earned from distance and pace (its App Store description also names consistency as a factor), so a longer or faster run earns more XP regardless of who's running it, meaning an already-fast runner's easy week can out-earn a beginner's hard one. Runked's weekly leagues score effort adjusted for personal fitness, so a beginner's honest, hard week can outscore a faster runner's easy one. Neither app's competition is guaranteed fair to everyone; the two simply reward different things.
